We are hiring a HR Manager, located at our Kerkrade site, to provide dedicated HR support to the business in The Netherlands and Germany. This role will be part of the European HR Team and report to the HR Director, Europe.

The HR Manager will work closely with the leadership team and HR Director, providing strategic and practical HR support to the business, including managing disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence processes, as well as talent management and succession planning. In addition, this role will provide support to the wider European HR Team in areas including recruitment, payroll oversight and approval, benefits administration and a variety of European project activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all generalist HR activities/processes at the Kerkrade site, as well as providing support to employees in Germany.
  • Acts as a guardian and role model of the company culture; model, coach, advance and drive culture including delivery of training on Principles / Code of Conduct / Mental Models / Supervisory Modules.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on relevant legislation; advise, support and coach colleagues and update / write policies as required.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll in the Netherlands and Germany. Oversee processing / approval of payrolls in other EU countries, undertaking payroll checks to ensure accuracy of payroll input and compliance with all applicable legislation. Also responsible for liaison with external providers, holding them accountable for delivery against agreed metrics.
  • Providing guidance to the business during change management processes, ensuring risk and disruption are minimised and processes are fully compliant.
  • Lead the salary review and variable compensation programmes, ensuring the company’s Compensation Philosophy is understood and applied consistently.
  • Ensure the timely and effective administration of local benefits plans.
  • Actively manage absence, ensuring compliance with the applicable legislation, including liaising with Occupational Health and UWV and supporting and coaching supervisors.
  • Lead the annual Performance Review process, ensuring plans are in place to correct performance gaps / development needs.
  • Deliver an efficient, responsive and timely recruitment process for the Kerkrade site and other European locations as required.
  • Manage industrial relations in an effective, timely and compliant manner, including engaging with the Works Council.
  • Undertake reporting of key HR metrics, including sickness absence, overtime, attrition and recruitment.
  • Undertake HR projects, ensuring these are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Seek opportunities to innovate and automate, optimize HR processes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant HR generalist role, at either Business Partner or HR Manager level, with demonstrable experience of successfully partnering with the business to achieve results.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in HR.
  • HR experience in a manufacturing / production environment, including management of disciplinaries / grievances / redundancies / restructures / absence.
  • Demonstrated performance management experience, including dealing with underperformance and managing performance review processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to pro-actively problem-solve and develop and implement effective HR solutions to support the business and manage risk.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate and operate effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch, English and German (written and spoken).
  • Strong systems skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience providing HR support in a multinational environment.
  • Previous experience of payroll processing.
  • Previous experience of utilising social media platforms in recruitment.
  • Previous experience designing and delivering training.
  • The appointment process will include a reference check and VOG.
